Welcome to Dragonfly and Ladybird classes!

Year One is an important transitional year from Reception into more formal learning. We allow for this transition by introducing specific tasks in the different areas of provision that make up our classrooms and learning spaces. As well as access to these areas of continuous provision we have slightly longer carpet time sessions and longer maths and English activity times where children learn to work independently as well as within groups with adult help. In their lessons the children work in groups that enable them to have the best quality learning in relation to their development. We try to make learning as much fun and as hands-on as possible; a safe and happy environment means happy, receptive learners.

We will use this class page to communicate information to you over the course of this academic year. It will be updated with curriculum and key information as well as photographs of the children in action. We look forward to a happy and productive relationship with you across the year.
