Geography

Designed to inspire in pupils a curiosity and fascination about the world and its people, our geography curriculum seeks to help pupils understand the space which they inhabit as humans and the wider world around them and develop progressive geographical skills through experiences in the classroom, fieldwork and educational visits.

 

The curriculum is designed around these following key themes:

  • Locational knowledge and map work
  • Human geography
  • Physical geography
  • Change: past, present and future

During Year 6, we will be focusing on 'The Anthropocene Epoch' (the most recent period in Earth's history when human activity started to have a significant impact on the planet's climate and ecosystems) exploring the questions:

  • How have natural disasters impacted on the population and geography of Asia?
  • How have humans influenced the state of our planet today?
