Functions of the Human Body (Circulatory System) - (Animals including humans): Summer 1
During the programme of study, pupils will be taught to:
- identify and name the main parts of the human circulatory system, and describe the functions of the heart, blood vessels and blood
- recognise the impact of diet, exercise, drugs and lifestyle on the way their bodies function
- describe the ways in which nutrients and water are transported within animals, including humans.
Inspired by the clever cutouts in Anatomy: A Cutaway Look Inside the Human Body by Hélène Druvert, pupils will consolidate their scientific learning by creating a page for an information text to describe and explain one of the scientific processes explored complete with diagrams, lift-up flaps and captivating cutout.
